Annie Hooper has been awarded by the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts.

 

Annie Hooper has been awarded by the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts. What this means is she is a finalist along with 4 other photographers and 137 artists of all disiplines (theater, music,dance writing and the visual arts) all chosen from 7300 entrants around the country.

As a finalist Annie will go to Florida in January, all expenses paid trip for ARTS WEEK. There she will participate in master classes with artist and educators, see/experience all the other disciplines and visit galleries, formal and informal interviews with the panelists and last but not least attend a black tie event where all finalists will be recognized. During this week the panelists will decide what level and cash award Annie will be awarded. She could be awarded 500-10,000.00 dollars. It will also be decided during this week whether she will be awarded the Presidential Scholar award. see the website ....So we have alot to look forward to this spring interms of more news about Annie's success in photography. She sent in 10 color photographs. This is a beautiful honor Annie, she deserves it. And it is a strong testament to our arts department and photo program at Miss Porter's School :)
